I highly recommend Vets4Pets St Albans. I've seen them twice now with my budgie Micky-Blue. Both times we have been seen within the time it takes to travel there from my location (and after arriving late with Friday evening traffic). I have mental health issues and have had extreme emotional outbursts throughout, and can honestly say I've been handled with as much care and love as my bird throughout our ordeal. Above and beyond is an understatement. I must note that I called many other vets before finding V4P who flatly refused to see my bird because they are not specialists in exotics. Any other bird owners out there that need help, try here. If they cannot help you (they openly admit they are not specialists in exotics) then they will refer you, advise and prescribe crucial medication if needed. Thank you and bless you all 🙌🩵

I wasn’t bother to leave a review initially, but I believe all future/ potential clients have the right to know what service they/ their pets will receive with St Albans VetsforPets. Conclusion first - All THEY CARE IS ‘MONEY’. 2 red flags I want people to know below: FIRST ONE The PetPlan free consultation is a gateway for them to promote more over priced products to you/ your pets. My cat was with them for the past couple months. They provide free consultation as long as you pay them a fairy pricy monthly subscription. My cat was a stray, I adopted her from a car park after feeding her for 3 months, and confirmed she was homeless. My cat only gone in heat for the first time, 2 months after I adopted her. I’ve clearly expressed this situation and St Albans VetsforPets put my cat as a adult cat for the Pet Care Plan, charging more every month with less benefits for my before 1yo kitten ( I.e. I was charged for the vaccination as she was deemed as an adult cat). During the 2 consultation my cat had, I raised 2 minor questions. One was to do with my car lost some hair around her backbone/ tail area after I adopted her from the car park, the other is a small acne on her bottom lip (I wrongly used the plastic food bowl and caused infection to her skin). Vet James prescribed me £50-60 items for the above issues each, with a mini size steroid pill and a 5ml gel to apply on her lip. During both consultations, the price was never openly and clearly discussed, clients only get to know the price in the end when they complete the consultation session. He purposefully described the situation to be very bad and therefore push over priced med bills on you. I didn’t get the gel for my cat acne and she managed to recover herself without an intervention in the end. Which according to James, it’s a very severe issue that without med support, she can’t heal herself. SECOND ONE Front deck work inefficiency, no awareness to solve problems actively. They wrongly charged me the full price after took my deposit before the visit. And this is the start of the NIGHTMARE. The money is only managed by their manager who is not even working full time. As the manager is only in for 2 days a week, a response from them can sometimes pending for couple weeks. I went back and forth in the email/ phone conversations least 20 times, re-explained my situations to the front desk support so many times, and finally get through to the manager and get my money refunded back. This is definitely NOT a FUN experience, with their attitude can sometimes be quite indifferent. Overall, money aside, my cat didn’t have a good support snd care here at St Albans PetsforVets sadly. The doctor failed to remember my cat’s gender and failed to identify and apply my cat’s age correctly in the following services. Calling my kitty cat HIM after conducted the initial examination, checked her belly & tail area, even provided her steroids injection twice. This really makes me wonder what is the drive for this business- money, or more money? **Further comment Please don’t reply my message, don’t ‘thank’ me for my feedback or ‘feel sorry’ - we are clear all these are just for maintaining the reputation. I would forever appreciate if going forward, this amount of effort can be pivoted to show more care and love to people’s sickly dogs and cats instead. Thanks Post edit update Ironically this is the efficiency I’m talking about, I clearly mentioned no response is needed for this review, yet I have received the quickest response since day1 me and my cat walked into their store (smh)

My first visit to this vet: If you want the personal touch give this vet service a swerve. No greeting for the dog to give reassurance, just 'down to business'; Dog was just an object. Then, after a cold mannered examination a price list of each treatment was reeled off with the comment by his assistant, 'you have a very expensive dog there'! I knew this was not a person I would trust with my dog's care as his ethos was not the same as my own. Follow up: Shortly after I took my dog to my usual vet who reassured me that none of the expensive treatments was absolutely necessary and a short course of pain relief enabled the hind leg to repair itself. A few months later he is running around totally free of pain with fully functioning leg. The fatty lumps are also causing him no trouble and it was not necessary for them to be removed.

We found a lost dog running around St Albans and rang this vet after the local police were unresponsive. We got a really friendly and calm response from this vet. When we bought the little dog in they were calm, friendly and informative. They let us stay there for as long as needed, till they closed. They gave us water for the dog and lent us a slip lead.

Lovely experience, the staff were so helpful and informative. I bought a fish tank and 2 fish for my daughters birthday, I'm a very happy customer. I was served by a lovely lady called Ally, who gave me all the support and advice I needed to get the most for my money and the best gift. I would definitely recommend them as they had lots of gift ideas in store.
